T-BAR PROFILES
HOW TO APPLY T-BAR
Carefully measure the T-Bar profile
and barb prior to machining as these
dimensions can vary from batch to
batch. Also do the same with the
boards as these too are manufactured
to within specific tolerances.
Step 1
Machine the correct groove width
and depth both into the board and
from the face surface. The width of
the groove should be approximately
0.5mm less
It is recommended you experiment
before machining the full production.
The groove width may also give
varying results when using different
types of board such as MDF, Chipboard
etc, this is why testing before
production machining is important.
Step 2
Step 3
To fit the profile you simply knock-in
the T-Bar using a soft head hammer.
Depending on the size and shore
hardness of the profile you can also
soften the material by storing in a
warm environment for a short time.
This will especially help when applying
woodgrain or large profiles and also if
you are working on a shaped panel.
When the profile cools, it will return to
it’s original shore hardness.
